I constantly find myself saying that I want to get fit, but I don't have the time. It's true, but it's not true. We all make time for the things we want to make time for. Take a hard 30 minutes for yourself. Check out this video that I found on Facebook from Brendan Meyers. Looks doable, right? Well, most of it...

UPDATES!!!!I feel so crappy. I cannot believe that it's been over a year since I've written anything on this blog. For those of you that are still hangin' tough...I LOVE YOU. For the newbies, welcome. I am going to make it my business to get a post up at least once a week. For now, let me at least tell you what I've been up to...

I've been working on my voice over career. If you are unsure, voice overs are simply the voices that you hear on commercials (tv, radio, podcasts, educational videos...etc). I had been dabbling for years, but finally put things into motion this year. I've had a few commercials here and there, but nothing MAJOR. I'm waiting on Coca-Cola to call me. Check out my VO website if you have the chance. www.dynacreeves.com Take a listen to my middle baby mocking me. She's good.

All of my kids have September birthdays, so I am soooo thankful that September is over. The big girl is 20, middle baby is 8, and my little guy is 4.

My beau and I are still going strong, It will be our 11 (technically 8 years if you include our 3 year break) anniversary in January, and honestly, I am ok with the fact that we aren't married yet. It's probably my fault. When he wanted to get married 10 years ago, I was like whhhaaaaat?!?!? LOL...and now, I've made it comfortable for him. Still, it makes me nervous how many people are together for years and get married and are suddenly divorced. We shall see. We do talk about it...perhaps we will be about it soon. Both of us are in school again, so maybe once we are done...

Always have been, and as far as I can tell, always will be. As a fluffy child, kids were mean. I recall so many hurtful scenarios, but I won't drag you into my pseudo therapy session today. Just like with any "minority", stipulations are placed. Big girls can't wear heels, big girls can't wear tight jeans, big girls shouldn't eat in public, big girls can't dance. Well, Miss Amber Riley is putting some "straight" size women to shame right now!!

I was not a Glee fan. I think it missed my SLIGHTLY older age range by a year or two. I mean, I have seen an episode or two, but even with Jane Lynch and the addition of my love, NeNe Leaks, I couldn't be sucked in. Don't get me wrong, the episodes were very cute and entertaining, just simply not my cups of tea. The kids can sing their butts off...again, just not for me. Honestly, I am not a DWTS fan either. I may catch a recap on ABC.com, but watching the entire season has not been for me.

WELL!!! Having said all of that, I'm in. Amber's got me hook, line, and sinker.
The only time that I've seen a big girl move like this was when Mo'nique came out on the BET awards with her big girl dancers!! Remember that? click here ---->Mo'nique dancing to Beyonce Dejavu at 2007 BET Awards.

Big girls of the world stand up and support this young lady because she is an amazing dancer who was not afraid of stigmas and is showing us all that YES...WE CAN DO IT TOO!!!
Once again, schedules are out of whack, alarm clocks are going off or not going off to no avail. The questions raise, to pack a lunch or not to pack a lunch. Did I do the laundry, do the kids have underwear, did I save the meeting agenda that I was toiling over for 3 hours off the clock last night?
Not to worry, I have a few obvious, but forgotten strategies to help make your mornings a little less hectic. It's all about simple pre-planning. Easy? Yes. But do we often forget to do it? YES!! Here is a simple hour-before-bed to do list. Jot these down in your smart phone and even set a reminder an hour or two before bed so that you don't forget.

1. Make sure that the clothes for the next day are out, ironed, and ready to be jumped into (if not, add another hour to this list and toss a load of laundry into the wash while we work on the balance).

2. Make sure that whatever can be packaged for lunch is already done. Make the sandwiches and put them in the 'fridge next to the juice-box that's gong to accompany it. This way you can grab them in the morning and toss them (lightly) into their lunch box or bag. Pack the box or bag now with non-perishable snacks, an apple, a bag of chips, that sweet snack...nothing to sweet though, we want the afternoon to be productive. We also don't want to bombard the teacher with sugar-wired kids. Have the lunch box or bag on the counter and waiting for the juice-box and sandwich. This alone will take 3 minutes off of the morning rush and and 15 minutes of stress off of your plate.

3. I like for my kids to take a bath or shower at night, so that in the morning, the only thing to do is brush their teeth and comb their hair after they wash their faces. My kids are small though, 3 and 7, so most of get-ready time is mommy's job. If you kids are older, have them shower at night. Girls will probably resist...so tell them got get up 15 minutes earlier for shower time. (Now you should be grabbing the laundry from #1 and tossing it into the dryer)

4. For little ones, you can even get breakfast going late at night. A low-sugar, high in fiber cereal is your best friend in the morning. Pour the bowls and place them in the fridge next to a small glass of milk and a small glass of juice. For 5 year olds and above, this will again save you about 5 minutes of breakfast making time because they can grab it themselves. This is that 5 minutes you need in the morning for mascara and lipstick so that you don't run over the crossing guard trying to do it while you are driving- bad mommy!

5. Now you should be hanging up the clothes from #1 so that you don't have to iron them in the morning. Put socks, and underwear out as well so that there is no confusion in the morning. If you have time on the weekend, you can do this for the entire week. Also make certain that respective book-bags are packed and by the door.

Trust me, these simple night time tips will save you time and stress in the morning. It may take a week or so for you to get it down to a 30 minute science, but it will be well worth it in the morning! Have an amazing week!!! Welcome back to the school year!
How do you guys edit your video for home or personal use? I had been using just the simple Microsoft program that comes with the original settings, but as my videos began to get more involved, and I realized that I needed more, I began using Movavi!
Movavi offers so many options! You can do all of the basics, but your video, add audio, etc, but it also allows you to add multiple audio files. This way if you want to do voice overlay AND music, you can. The other program that I was using did not allow that.
You can also add special effects, audio and video transitions...the options are endless, or should I say only as far as your imagination will allow!
Be sure to follow Movavi Facebook. There you can network with other users, and even trade secrets!! What are you waiting for? You know that you've always wanted to do videos!! Get started today with Movavi!!

Now however, that I have a wonderful father for my children in my life, I look for wonderful ways to show him how much he means to us (when he's not driving me crazy). At a loss for ideas? Here are some thoughts...

If your father figure is into fitness...or just starting out, a great watch to help keep him on track would be ideal. Try a Polar watch!! This one is really cool...

If your guy is less into fitness and more into beer...a beer of the month subscription might be a cool idea...Check out Beer of the Month Club and see what I mean.

If he's been working hard all year at being a great dad, then maybe a massage is what he needs. Yes, men need those too! Check out Groupon or Living Social for great deals on a massage in your area! Dad will thank you!!!

Don't forget to with that amazing man a Happy Father's Day for me!!

Those stilettos that we love are only good for sitting pretty and possibly standing, but only for 2 hours.

To alleviate the need for $2 flip flops or wanting to chop your feet off at the end of the day, opt for adorable flats! Go for bright and vibrant colors or patterns to perk up your ensemble Everyone has them, but for my wide doggies, the outside chunky part of my foot always looks like it's trying to escape. I found a really cute pair of flats from Rocket Dog that alleviate that with an outer rim that is higher than usual.

Happy shopping girls!
What are you going to wear on those cute little tootsies of yours? Well, if you are like me...you haven't had cute LITTLE tootsies since about 1981, so for us big and wide foot girls...it takes a little more searching and finding.

I am a 10W which is almost non existent in cute and sexy, so I usually opt for a size 11 for comfort. Lots of retailers are waking up though. With the plus size fashion revolution comes the big girl foot revolution....YAHOO!!! More size 11s are being made, I just have to be sneaky to find them.

So I've decided to give you a shoe a day for the next week. Here is the first. I own this one and I know you will love it!

The Deelight by Nine West is super sexy and very comfortable believe it or not. You can go from day to night with just a change of eye makeup!! LOL
If you are anything like me, you're a total concealer junkie!! It is one of my many weaknesses.

Here are the top 2 that I've used in the past and love.

MUFE has to to be my number 1.

I love that it goes on very smoothly and has buildable coverage. The only problem with this one...I have to mix #14 & #18 to make my perfect shade. What happened to 16 MUFE?!?!? LOL. Also, it dries quickly. There is no blending this baby after the first minute or so after application.

MAC Mineralize conceraler is awesome.

My color is NW45 and is perfect for me to wear alone, with nothing else. It dries to a matte but not dry finish, is also buildable and totally amazing!

My Pro Conceal palette just came in the mail, and I can't wait to give it a whirl. Look for a new video shortly...

Which are your favorite concealers??

This is totally where my head is right now. I've been fighting and fighting with it for years. So why stop now, right? I'm going to keep going until I find somethng that works for me and something that works for you. They don't have to be the same, we just need them to work, yes? YES!!

So this bit of info, I found in a Woman's Day (issue March 5, 2012). It claims that if you fill up on 10-15 grams of miracle fiber (resistant starch) that it will force your body to burn more fat and cause you to feel fuller faster. Well, what exactly are resistant starches? Here is a list that they had.

Food Grams of Resistant Starch
Slightly green banana 13
ripe banana 5
1/2 C white beans 4
1 C potatoes cooked AND
cooled 3
1/2 C garbanzo beans 2
1 C whole wheat pasta 2
1/2 C brown rice 2
1/2 C peas 2
1/2 C black beans 2
1 slice rye bread 1
1 C corn flakes 1
1 C oatmeal 1

Added benefits of resistant starches:

1. They help prevent diabetes
2. They soothe your belly by boosting good bacteria to reduce bloat and gas
3. They help fight precancerous cells in the colon.

Now as usual, you need to modify your diet, low in sugar and starch. And of course you need some level of exercise. These tips will merely help boost your weightloss. Good luck. Let me know if it works for you.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7396533951046300510.post-7349277392093164872012-07-11T15:10:00.000-04:002012-07-11T15:17:23.513-04:007 Day Crash DietAccording to Dr. Joel Fuhrman, you can lose 10lbs in one week by eating lots of high nutrient foods. Of course that's going to be mostly fruits and veggies.

Here is the plan:

1. Follow the 90/10 rule daily.
Fill up on fruits veggies nuts, etc, and eat only 10% of dairy, meats, and sweets
ex:
Breakfast: Oatmeal with fresh fruit.
Lunch: Focus on beans, salad w/beans, home made hummus etc, BEANS ARE YOUR BEST FRIEND!!
Dinner: Lean, green skinny supper, egg plant, broccoli pizza.

2. Use secret weapons, berries, onions, mushrooms!! All have properties that blast fat from your body!!

3. Drink skinny shakes! 4oz pom juice 1 C strawberries, 1C ice, lemon juice. Helps lower insuline, glucose; filling, helps keep you UNbloated.

NO WORKING OUT DURING THE FIRST WEEK!! Wait until you feel well enough to do it.

Yummy tips:
Switch regular pasta for quinoa pasta (find at local health food stores)
Snack on roasted chick peas

Not suggested for balding. Check this out. You know how sometimes you get emails or coupons in the mail from let's say Macy's or Old Navy and you toss 'em because shopping is just not in the budget this month? Well hold on pardner!! Click on the Submit A Coupon tab from the main page at CouponChief.com and input that baby. Whenever people use your coupon, you will receive 2% of the sale!!! You have to sign up to be a part of the program at the Pays-2-Share tab, but how crazy is that?!?!? Ok, so you're thinking...2%...that's bird feed. Really? Well, considering CouponChief.com receives over 250k visitors monthly and let's just say for example a 1000 of those people (that's less than 1%) made just a $10 purchase with your coupon codes, that would net you approximately $200 directly into your Paypal account. It would take a pretty big bird to eat all of that feed buddy!!! And you didn't do a thing, but input a code. Pretty awesome for 2 minutes work, wouldn't you say??

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 135px; height: 70px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjkaDFiCG8-8mIf7zbA1KWUAThwEdY8G_UJCuCU1gVpKLxB-6-e17Qkk-jsAb069sEEcFWpzR3JDBZcgYgfiIQfxgMNiPGNPRTYGp68P8mzFPbo8F8S1XTCovLmidmVYbkIqzIXl2emrAE/s320/I+heart.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5691312161292037538" />
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 132px; height: 75px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgjcM0xRVUPV10ABTZ5-23f4Z8UpHRMIYIJrsdt7pPmdo8miqpxUFJffbqVRWYtaM1oyZV_y28meqZzxyjqvRTNbI85yyPrf2OJnEZ5TpSlEFf0ifd5lW5K_yaytywxD5qJmWJ2klCM2Oc/s320/coupon+chief.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5691311007316273922" />

So, bottom line, I LOVE CouponChief, and so should you. Please don't ask, and yes, I'm devastated but supportive. She needs to lose 15lbs so that she qualifies, and I need to lose like 50lbs just cause I'm chunky. She talked me into doing this alleged "master cleanse" with her for 10 days. Not sure how long I'm going to make it, but effort will be put forward. Here are the basics...

7 1/2 oz water
1 1/2 tbs. grade B maple syrup
1 1/2 tbs. fresh lemon juice
a pinch of cayenne pepper

Drink this concoction along with 8oz of water at least 8 times per day or whenever you're hungry.

The purpose of this cleanse is to clean out your body and prepare it for accepting good and healthy foods. Some people use it to lose a few pounds for a special event or what have you, but it's supposed to be an overall cleanse.

So, for us, it's Day one. I've weighed myself just for the purposes of keeping you updated. I will NOT be sharing my actual poundage, only what if anything is lost lol.

So, heeeere we go!!!!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7396533951046300510.post-17209393036473328822011-10-30T08:21:00.004-04:002012-01-04T13:17:50.281-05:00How is YOUR spirit looking?I went to a shoot a couple of months ago for a project that was being done for a cosmetics company's special 10 year anniversary. There were beautiful women there from all walks of life. 20-something ladies in school, 30-something business women, all chatting and excited about the filming and being a part of something this revolutionary. Now, as with any large group of people, there were a few that left that "bad taste" in your mouth.

One of the questions asked of us for the filming was to the effect of "...how do you measure beauty in yourself and others". One of the ladies remarked to me, "If your spirit is ugly, then regardless of how you look on the outside, it's a wrap." Well, in my opinion she hit the nail on the head with that one. More often than not, we as women meet one another with a raised or furrowed brow as opposed to a warm smile and nice hello. We scrutinize attire from head to toe as if we are stylists to the stars! Ever stop to think why? Well, I did. I have a theory. It's all about your own self esteem and demons. If you know that you are not true, then you will constantly and consistantly be weary of others that may be like you. If you know that your intentions are less than honorable, then you are going to again be concerned that others are too looking to get the preverbial leg up at your expense.

Give it a rest yall. Life is short, and love is abundant in supply. So I ask you today...in 2012...

How is YOUR spirit looking?Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7396533951046300510.post-22856494031524328242011-10-07T11:51:00.006-04:002011-10-10T13:09:02.551-04:00Nu-Grow Giveaway!!Hey guys!!! The creator was W.D. Andrews, but as of 2003, the company is being run by his son, Greg Andrews. Nu-Gro's primary focus has been hair growth products, however, they also offer a range of other natural products including weight-loss, eye lash growth, and arthritis and gout pain ointment.

Nu-Gro's hair care line is extensive and offers something for everyone. I've been using the system off and on since 2009 and have notice (along with others) a HUGE difference in my hair's thickness and length. Often I'm asked what types of hair the product can be used on. According to Greg, they've tried the products on 42 nationalities with positive hair growth results on all.

I started using Nu-Gro in February of 2009. Over the previous year, I had noticed my hair thinning which was foreign to me because growing up I'd ALWAYS had thick hair. My beautician attributed it to my age (at the time I was 34, stress, child birth, etc. I heard her, but was not willing to give up. I think I'd tried just about every shampoo and conditioner that had been raved about from here to the moon. Price was no object for me either. If it was $.99 or $50, I was ready to put the investment into the health of my hair. So around that time, I ran across a video from Ateyaaa on YouTube about this new product called Nu-Gro that was doing wonders for her hair. Well why not give it at try? Ateya's hair was gorgeous, and shiny. So I immediately placed my order and waited patiently for my shipment(thankfully it only took two days). I opened the box and ran to wash my hair!! The first thing that I noticed was that this green grainy concoction smelled like medicine. At that point though, I was willing to try anything. There were actual pieces of herbs in the shampoo, you could see them, feel them...wow. The shampoo was also very thin, but did build a nice lather after the first wash. I could not believe how silky my hair felt during this wash, especially since I was in dire need of a touch up. I followed through with the conditioner, which was thick, but not super thick like a treatment. Once I finished, my hair was like butta'!! I noticed a difference right away. I incorporated Hair Gro Oil with the shampoo and conditioner, and watched my hair grow and thicken like magic!! If you're interested in more details, here are some of my videos from YouTube with more details.

As of 2011, Nu-Gro has revamped their products and have an amazing line of new inventory. The absolute bottom line is that...

1: the input has to be less than the output. Meaning, if you eat 2000 calories per day, you want to try to burn at least 2500 if you're trying to lose weight. Don't be afraid, you burn calories by breathing...lol, like 10, but seriously, you've got to MOVE...Excercise helps everything. Plus, it helps keep your body tight...no use in losing weight and looking like a prune...

and...

2: you MUST modify your diet IF you are trying to lose weight. Once you reach your goal, you can have a cheat day...not a go crazy day, but one day per week that you can have that cheesecake slice, that fried chicken dinner, or that ice cream sunday. You HAVE to enjoy life if you are going to be successful in reaching your goals.

I'm with you, we can do it...

Please feel free to post any tips that you might have for weightloss and getting on course.

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7396533951046300510.post-41902036860611574092011-06-26T15:35:00.007-04:002011-07-03T14:23:06.448-04:00Shed those extra pounds!!<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 126px; height: 89px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh88yg-wQQnYAu1bOX-H6jHowdvCgSoETzS581umrGxDJRdlf5JUM7uojCUf8NT90DKhMxpyTw440mjjwWvJ7yCdnE21ytkLJThF_KSixhIbFkktX6wsFm-X44hZIgmCbtZk_7itpyUsCQ/s400/lose+weight.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5622630776412675810" />

Hey guys...

If you're like me you've got an extra 5...10...15...OKAY!!!! 40 pounds to shed. If you're even more like me, you hate dieting, and you hate working out even more. If you're my twin, then you're over 35 and you need to face reality!!! LOL...we have GOT to work out. There is no way that you are going to be able to:

a. lose weight, or
b. get toned

without working out. So, I've purchased several videos that I plan to use at home and give you some updates on. I have Tony Horton's 10 minute trainer which is kick-a** on a dvd. It is killer!!! But that lets you know it will work; I've got Core Rhythms which is cool, and starts off slow, but you totally feel it the next day...again, it works; and lastly, I've been taking advantage of my Comcast/Xfinity on Demand feature which also offers a work out channel on my terms. So look for that in the future.

So, right now, let's talk about eating healthy...NOT dieting. When you think of dieting, you automatically thing uuuuuhhh....nothing that I can enjoy, lettuce three times a day, and water. It doesn't have to be that ,way. There are lots of alternatives. Hungry Girl, Lisa Lillien,(looove heeerr!!) offers great alternatives to those high fat, yummy goodies that we love like burgers and fries, and sundaes!!! Her philosophy is keeping all meals under 300 calories. She's got a show on the Cooking channel now too!!! Also, the 17 day diet is awesome for me at least. I've been doing it off and on for several weeks. Not as diligently as I should have, but enough that I've lost 25lbs.

The bottom line to getting those pounds off is focus, determination, keeping yourself full, and not doing a lot of mindless eating. Everything should be conscious. Eventually, it will become second nature. Again though, if you're like me, you have to STAY focused at least until you reach your goal weight. Once I eat something naughty, I have a hard time refocusing.

So, for you my loves, I offer a couple of Lisa's Hungry Girl alternative recipes, and a list of 17 day diet "authorized" foods.

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 287px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhBiyy6RNDS_LyR8mm-4nCxTisghI0ZztqmRxrWVsR-8MGIzw_te4XXEre-DA6TmH5nSa06yaqJz9bPDIMzDSy9GBK0r0xGmNjLWtGjJZ-aBpABTEGb-UzQjLu0QGSenkgyzF5TdBmtzXE/s400/hungryGirlShow.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5622629931601489074" />

Hungry Girl recipes (from the June 17th Woman's World Mag):

Buffalo Chicken Wing Macaroni & Cheese

4.5 oz uncooked elbow macaroni with at least 2g of fiber per 2 oz serving
2 stalks celery, chopped
2 medium carrots, chopped
1 small onion, chopped, 8oz cooked skinless chicken breast, shredded
1 tsp chopped garlic
1/4 C Frank's RedHot sauce
1/2 C fat free sour cream
2 wedges The Laughing Cow light creamy swiss cheese
2 tsp yellow mustard
1.5 Tbs reduced fat Parmesan style grated topping
1 Tbs chopped fresh parsley

-Preheat oven to 350F. Stay away from sugars, starches, etc. Hard, yes, but it's only for 17 days. The next 17 days, you will incorporate some starches slowly back into your diet, and alternate those days with the original 17 days. There is a third set of 17 days, but your girl hasn't made it that far...LOL...check out the info on The Doctor's page (loooove them!!!).

Start with the first 17 days...the Accelerate step.

Eat unlimited amounts of green veggies (spinach, lettuce, broccoli, etc) along with other veggies...onions, mushrooms, etc. No starches like potatoes!!
Two servings of fruits (low sugar fruits like red grapes, grapefruit, berries, and apples) can be eaten daily prior to 2pm as the body does not metabolize the sugars well after that time (since we are normally mostly at rest then).
Two servings of probiotics should be eaten daily. My choice is fat free or low fat probiotic yogurt, preferably Greek (Chobani is the BOMB!!!)
Again, unlimited amounts of lean meats including egg whites, ground turkey, fish and chicken breast.

Happy healthfulness!!!
XOXOX - DynaUnknownnoreply@blogger.com0
