Dr. Oz's suggestions for a healthy pantry

Hey guys and gals!!!

Ok, so I LOOOVE Dr. Oz, but he always makes me feel like I'm going to die tomorrow. So here's what I've decided to do. To help me and you...I'm going to start updating my blog with healthy info and weight loss info from the show. I may add one or two of my own tid-bits here and there. With the holidays at hand, I'm sure this will come in handy to someone...namely ME!!! Enjoy!!

Pantry Staples and why...

red wine vinegar- helps lower cholesterol
hot sauce- helps cut down your appetite and stimulates digestion & metabolism
EVOO (extra virgin olive oil for those of you that don't watch Rachael Ray)- great substitute for butter and other unhealthy oils & it contains good omega3's for your heart
paprika- full of vitamin C
black peppercorns- gives flavor w/o salt
curry powder- cuts down body inflammation
brown basmati rice- rich in vitamin B, E, and potassium (add a green tea bag to your pot for flavor)
couscous- full of fiber and selenium
Bulgar wheat- excellent source of fiber
pine nuts- fiber and protein packed, can be toasted to add flavor to foods
pumpkin seeds- fiber and protein packed, can be toasted to add flavor to foods
hazelnuts- fiber and protein packed, can be toasted to add flavor to foods

Happy re-stocking!!!
